“Young Factor”: a project in pursuit of economic and financial literacy

Osservatorio Permanente Giovani-Editori: 6 Central Bank Governors together to improve the economic and finacial literacy of young generations

Carlos Da Silva Costa, Governor Bank of Portugal is the new member of the Osservatorio’s International Advisory Board. He is nominated by the Osservatorio’s Presidency Department. The International Advisory Board, which is led by Andrea Ceccherini, is composed of Klaas Knot (President of Nederlandsche Bank) Luis M. Linde (former Governor of Banco de España), Francois Villeroy de Galhau (Governor of Banque de France), Ignazio Visco (Governor of Banca d’Italia), Jens Weidmann (President of Deutsche Bundesbank).

This Board, which was met in Florence a few months ago (look at the picture), is responsible of try to determine a new European values’s system of the Osservatorio. The Osservatorio will have to be inspired by the new values’s system to achieve more internationalization for his project of economic anc finacial literacy (Young Factor).

The Osservatorio promotes Young Factor’s project in italian high school to improve the economic and finacial literacy of italian students in partnership with major italian banks – Intesa Sanpaolo, Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Ubi Banca and UniCredit. The economic and finacial literacy project, which involves 500.000 italian students, is leader in the italian high school. The project offers to teachers a training course: ten lessons which explain ten keywords, about the economic and finacial literacy, to students.

Thanks to this project, italian students will be more confident with their own head. Every year an indipendent research’s institute examines the effect and the growing of students’s skills.
