“Young Factor”: a project in pursuit of economic and financial literacy

Federico Ghizzoni

Federico Ghizzoni was born in Piacenza (Italy) on 14 October 1955. He holds a Degree in Law from Parma University and started his career in 1980 at Credito Italiano in Piacenza. Between 1988 and 1989 he became Branch Director in Trieste and continued his career as Director of the Seriate Branch. In 1990, Mr Ghizzoni was appointed Deputy General Manager of Credito Italiano’s London Office. He was later appointed General Manager of the Credito Italiano Singapore Office. In 1995 he was Executive Director responsible for Corporate and International Banking and from 2000 to 2002 he was Executive Director of Bank Pekao S.A, a UniCredit subsidiary. In 2003 he moved to Turkey as Executive Board Member at Koç Financial Services, a 50-50 joint venture between Koç Holding and UniCredit Group, and as General Manager at Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi. In July 2007 he was appointed Head of CEE Banking Operations and Deputy CEO at Bank Austria AG. In August 2010 he took up the position of Deputy CEO and Deputy General Manager of UniCredit. Since 30 September 2010 he has been Chief Executive Officer, UniCredit. He is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bank AG in Munich and Member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of International Finance in Washington, the International Monetary Conference in Washington, the Institut International d’Etudes Bancaires in Brussels and the European Services Financial Round Table in Brussels. He is also Chairman of the Philharmonic Orchestra Association of La Scala in Milan.
